Lower Zambezi National Park
The Zambezi River valley is known for bountiful wildlife, including buffalo, fish eagles, and herds of elephants. The river is home to hippos and crocodiles. In the east, the river passes past the remarkable cliffs of Mupata Gorge. To the North, you will find the steep and rugged Zambezi Escarpment.
The allure of Lower Zambezi lies in its remoteness- low crowd volumes and uninhibited animal encounters in their natural habitat. Some of the best wildlife viewing can be done by boat along the riverbank. Elephant herds, hippo, leopard, lion, and buffalo along with more than 400 bird species are to be found in this captivating, unspoiled environment.

This park is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is home to one half of the Mosi-oa-Tunya- “The Smoke that Thunders”, Victoria Falls. The park extends from the Batoka Gorge, continuing for about 12km along the Zambezi River, above the falls. The wildlife park with its riverine forest of palm trees, miombo woodland, and grassland is home to abundant birdlife, and animals including Angolan giraffe, Burchell’s zebra, warthog, sable, Cape buffalo, impala, and other antelope. View Hippopotamus and crocodile from the riverbank.
The rainforest on the cliff opposite the Eastern Cataract is sustained by spray from the falls. Experience nature and wildlife at their finest!
